How to Catch Shiny Moltres in Pokemon GO

To catch a shiny Moltres in Pokemon GO, you’re going to have to encounter and capture one of them in a Raid. Unfortunately, none of the legendary birds are the type of Pokemon that you’ll just bump into while exploring. So, that’s already an issue; you have to wait for Moltres to return to Raids (which are commonly five-star). Luckily for you, this particular legendary Pokemon is going to be appearing in Raids from July 14th to July 22nd, 2022. So, if you want to have even the slightest chance to get a shiny Moltres, that’s gonna be your window. If you want to prepare for the “event,” check out our Moltres Counters, Weakness & Best Moveset in Pokemon GO guide.

Another thing that you need to know when trying to catch a shiny Moltres in Pokemon GO is that, as is the case with any other shiny Pokemon variant, encountering one is very rare. So, bottom line, you have a relatively narrow window of about a week to trawl around and hope that one of the Raids is going to “star” a shiny Moltres. On the bright side, at least they are easy to differentiate from regular Moltreses, what with the bright pink, flesh-looking feathers. You can see what the shiny version of the fire bird looks like in the image up above. So, probably the best way to go about it is just fight and catch any Moltres you come across. If nothing else, this will grant you a lot of Candies that you can then use to power up your shiny, if you happen to get one.
