Equipping different guns and non-lethal weapons on your Watch Dogs Legion operatives is a relatively important mechanic in the game. However, it’s been causing a lot of problems, because the system is a little confusing. People are having trouble figuring out how to give operatives new weapons, how to equip and unequip weapons, etc. We’ll be answering all those questions and more in our Equip Different Weapons, Guns on Operatives Watch Dogs Legion guide.
How to Equip Guns & Non-Lethal on Watch Dogs Legion Operatives?
To equip guns and non-lethal weapons on Watch Dogs Legion operatives, you have to put it into the appropriate skill slot. However, there are some limitations that you have to be aware of. For one, everyone can carry a non-lethal weapon. You unlock them with tech points, so they’re good for everyone, as far as we can tell.
Unfortunately, not all operatives can carry lethal weapons. If you get an operative that can pack, like the absolute unit in the image above, they will come with those weapons right out of the box. If they don’t, you simply can’t equip a lethal gun on them. Even those that do carry a “proper” gun can only carry the type of gun they come with. If they have a pistol, they can’t carry a shotgun, for example.
How to Unequip Weapons in Watch Dogs Legion?
You can’t really unequip weapons in Watch Dogs Legion. The best you can do is swap in a new weapon from the same type. As we’ve said above, if an operative comes with a weapon slot, they can only handle another weapon like that. In our example above, the strapping young lad can have either a full-auto rifle or a grenade launcher. He can’t have a shotgun or a pistol. But, if you have another full-auto rifle that you like better, you can put it into the appropriate slot. If, on the other hand, you want to know how to holster a weapon, check out our guide on how to holster weapon in Watch Dogs Legion.
How to Give Operative New Weapons – Can I Equip Different Weapons?
You can only give operatives a new weapon from the group that they already have in their skills – shotguns, pistols, SMGs, what have you. Just put them in the appropriate slot. Also, you can swap weapons between characters that have the same category. For example, if one operative has one shotgun, and another has a different shotgun, they can exchange them freely.
You can’t give any lethal weapons to operatives that don’t come with one. They can only carry non-lethal guns that you’ll unlock through tech points or by playing the game. Unfortunately, no matter what you do, you can’t make them carry a gun that can actually take a life.
