Grandmaster Griffin Armor | Witcher 3 Blood and Wine

Grandmaster Griffin Armor is the newest upgrade for the Griffin School Gear. It was added to the Witcher 3 in the Blood & Wine DLC. It is the final step of in the evolution of this medium set, and you’ll be able to use it once you reach level 40. In this guide, we’ll show you how to get Grandmaster Griffin Armor in Blood and Wine, what it looks like and what it does.

Grandmaster Griffin Steel Sword, Boots & Gauntlets

The first three diagrams can be found in the eastern part of the map, at Fort Ussar. Approach the ruins from the east – if you come from the west, you’ll attract the Slyzards nesting there. The schematics are in the chest under the stairs.

Grandmaster Griffin Silver Sword, Armor & Trousers

The other three schematics are located in Mont Crane Castle, a bit north-west from the previous place. When you enter the castle courtyard, go all the way left. Use the magic lamp on the wall there to reveal a secret entrance. Follow the corridor and pick up the crystal from the table. Look for a switch by the bookshelf in the next room. This will alert the whole castle – you’ll be swarmed by a dozen bandits and hounds. Once they’re done with, use the crystal to activate the portal. You’ll have to fight a stone golem on the other side. Examine all the containers in the far end of the room to get the remaining diagrams.

Grandmaster Griffin Gear Stats

Like the Mastercrafted version before it, this is a medium set that should appeal to hybrid builds that rely on signs. You can use it as soon as you hit level 40 – it will increase your sign intensity and offer protection from all kinds of damage. The set bonus for wearing 3 pieces allows you to cast a sign for free, for 3 seconds after you’ve cast a sign using stamina. If you wear the whole set, you’ll get a Yrden buff – +40% trap size, with increased stamina regeneration and sign intensity while you’re in it. At the same time, your damage will be reduced.
