Walkthrough

Talk to Bruno.
Read the note that mentions the disappearance of a man called Mikel, whose brother Bruno seeks information on his whereabouts. You’ll find Bruno in a corner at the Inn at the Crossroads. Talk to him to learn that his brother took the women of Bellows village into an old mine for safety. Barter for a better price if you want, then ask him about Mikel some more. You’ll learn the Mikel is wearing fancy calfskin ankle boots.
Find the missing brother in the mine near the Inn at the Crossroads.
Head north and slightly to the east of the village, along the road, until you reach the river. Find an old wagon and a hut at the entrance of the mine. Use your Witcher Senses to find:
- splattered human remains
- monster tracks that lead into the mine
Explore the mine using your Witcher Senses.
Enter the mine and use Igni to light the torch inside. Jump down into the lower tunnel, then head east to the drier portion of the tunnel where you’ll spot the monster’s tracks again. Keep following the tracks until they diverge into two routes; one that continues down the tunnel to the left, and one that leads right and into a small pool of water.
Dive into the pool and go through the underwater tunnel with some crates. Follow the tracks that will resurface in a grotto. Head to the middle of the chamber and use your Witcher Senses to inspect the scene. You are apparently dealing with an Arachas.

Use Witcher Signs to destroy all the eggs (12).
Look for four giant egg sacks next to some mushrooms. Use Igni or Aard to destroy them before they hatch, then head west. Take the left exit of the grotto and draw your sword for a fight with a young arachas. After you’ve dispatched it, destroy two more egg sacs that stand together, and two that are apart.
The last four egg sacs are in a different cavern, left of the first chamber, which you can access through an underwater tunnel. Destroy them to prevent them from hatching.

Kill the arachas.
Keep going northwest, then west through a tunnel that leads to a giant chamber. You’ll see the remains of local women strewn about the chamber. Use your Witcher Senses to a calfskin boot that belonged to Mikel. You will now have to face the arachas Harrisi. There will also be young arachases with her, the exact number of which will depend on how many egg sacs you managed to destroy.

Take a trophy from the arachas’ body.
When the arachas drops dead, loot its corpse and take the trophy and the ingredients.
Collect your reward.
Return to Bruno at the Inn and tell him that his brother is dead. He will be saddened by the news and will refuse to pay the full sum for the contract. At that point you’ll have to either take half the money or use Axii Delusion Level 3 on him to get him to pay you in full. The contract will then be completed.
