This happens either when you interact with the goddess statue found inside the Temple of Time on the Great Plateau or when you find the huge bargainer statue under the Great Abandoned Central Mine in the Depths. The water and Great Plateau, are solid clues, but how are you supposed to locate the statue, or, for that matter, interact with it if it is under water? This riddle is important, because solving it leads to unlocking gloom resistance Depths Armor Set. We’ll explain how to complete the Call from the Depths side adventure and where to find the statue trapped under the water behind the great plateau stone gate.

Where to Find Statue Trapped Under the Water Behind the Stone Gate of Great Plateau in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom?

To solve the Statue Under the Water riddle you need to reach the Great Plateau and a stone gate within. Great Plateau is the zone where the previous Zelda game took place. It is located south of the Hyrule Field. Surrounded by very tall stone walls it stands out. Once you climb up you should be able to find a lake on the northeast side of the plateau. It’s in a sort of a gulch. You are looking for a body of water that is directly south of Lake Kolomo, northeast from the Forest of Spirits, and west of the Forest of Time. We have marked the exact spot where you need to go in our screenshot below.

Once you reach the Great Plateau stone gate, as marked on our screenshot, you’ll then see a rock barrier. Your task is to break it with a rock hammer (any weapon fused with a rock). This will drain the water under which the statue is located. Go through the hole you just made.

Smash the blockage.

Statue trapped under the water behind stone gate of the Great Plateau is located at -0585 -1541 0028 in-game coordinates. You’re going to see a strange rock with four eyes. Interacting with it starts a conversation that then sends you to Temple of Time Ruins. It is located on the Great Plateau further to the south. The statue is actually being controlled by a bargainer statue in the depths and this starts the Call from the Depths side adventure.

How to Start a Call from the Depths in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom?

If you haven’t even received the message and want to start this quest then there are two ways of doing it. One is to first visit the Temple of Time Ruins on the Great Plateau. You should then talk to the goddess statue inside. She will send you to look for the underwater statue. Go drain the water at the stone gate and return to the goddess statue to continue the quest. You’ll have to throw four stone eyes into nearby chasms next. Once all are dropped in you then need to carry them to the bargainer statue. It is located underneath the Great Abandoned Central Mine in the Depths.

Another possibility is that you discovered the Great Abandoned Central Mine in the Depths while trying to unlock the Autobuild ability. As you explore the abandoned mine you can discover a huge bargainer vendor at 0779 -1902 -0565. He’ll say the “trapped under the water behind the stone gate on the Great Plateau” and send you on your adventure.

Either way leads you back to the surface and getting the Call from the Depths side adventure. In the end you unlock the bargainer as a vendor and can buy depths armor and other goodies for poes.
