Elden Ring Converted Fringe Tower Puzzle Solution

The Elden Ring Converted Fringe Tower puzzle solution is way more difficult than you might think. First off, you have to get a specific emote from an NPC. However, they won’t give it to you until you bring them an item that’s ridiculously convoluted to get. Then, you need to have the right headwear, too. Only when you have all of these can you open the door and get the rewards that lie within. In short, in this guide, we’ll show you how to get the Glitstone Crown, how to get the Erudition gesture / emote from Sorcerer Thops, and how to obtain the Cannon of Haima and Gavel of Haima Sorceries.

How to Get Erudition Gesture / Emote in Elden Ring

To get the Erudition gesture or emote in Elden Ring, which you need to solve the Converted Fringe Tower puzzle, you first need to get the Academy Glintstone Key. It’s a journey, so buckle up. We’ll start from the Debate Parlor site of grace (location provided in the screenshots below). From there, head out the gate to the north, then head up the rubble on your left. Go up the stairs to the north, round the corner to the left, and hop over the fence towards the large staircase. Climb up the stairs, turn the corner to the left, and hop down to the roof below. Walk across the roof to the south until you spot the long ladder on your right.

Climb to the top and go all the way to the bell tower. Make your way around it to the right and drop to the roof below. Turn to the north, drop another level, and then another. Turn to the west and drop down one level, then one more. Kill the enemy on your right and drop down to the platform below and to the left. Follow the path to the north and jump across to the roof of the cathedral. Walk to the right and around and hop into the first open window. Carefully go onto the rafters and look to the north and down. You’ll see a chandelier with an item on it. That’s the Academy Glintstone Key.

Next, to get the Erudition emote in Elden Ring and enter the Converted Fringe Tower, head into the Church of Irith, which lies southwest of the Lake-Facing Cliffs site of grace. Find Sorcerer Thops, talk to him, and give him the key. In return, he’ll give you the gesture.

How to Get Glintstone Crown in Elden Ring

To get the Glitstone Crown in Elden Ring and get into the Converted Fringe Tower, go back to the Debate Parlor site of grace. Leave through the gate in the north and walk north. Pass the structure in the middle on the left, then head under the bridge to the northwest. Go west while hugging the wall on your left. When you come close to the cliff, turn left again and find the crab in the bushes near the wall. It will drop the Karolos Glintstone Crown.

Alternatively, you can go back up to the chandelier where you found the Academy Glintstone Key earlier. Drop one level below, onto the walkway, and head out the east doorway. Turn right and check the corner behind the scaffolding. There, you’ll find another crab, which drops the Twinsage Glintstone Crown. Either of these two items will do for our purposes.

How to Solve the Puzzle to Enter Converted Fringe Tower in Elden Ring

To solve the puzzle and enter the Converted Fringe Tower in Elden Ring, you first need to find it, of course. I guess it’s a safe bet that you’ve already found it if you’re reading this, but if not, just know that it’s in the northeast of Liurnia. We’ll show you the exact location of the tower in the screenshots below. Once you get to the doorway blocked by the magical fog, equip either the Karolos Glintstone Crown or the Twinsage Glintstone Crown as your headwear. Then, turn towards the doorway and perform the Erudition gesture / emote. Now, just make your way to the top of the tower. There’s a chest in there, in which you’ll find the Cannon of Haima and Gavel of Haima Sorceries.

Very early in your exploration of Elden Ring world you will find out that you need to prepare your character for different tasks. You'll need to learn how to use Ashes of War, how to two-hand weapons, or use magic spells during the course of your adventures. Many secrets are also waiting for you, such as, a hostile NPC Sellen that doesn't let you see her shop, an invisible man in a bush, or a huge turtle with a bell that lets you duplicate some very important items.
