Homing Instinct Painting Location and Solution Elden Ring

The location and solution of the Elden Ring Homing Instinct Painting are, sadly, not very close to each other. That’s what guides are for, thought, right? So, first off, the location of the painting. We’re going to start from the Waypoint Ruins Cellar bonfire; sorry, site of grace. From there, we go east / northeast. What you’re looking for is the Artist’s Shack, which has its own site of grace, just in case you need to return and take another peek at the painting. The shack itself is a completely dilapidated wooden hut, and the painting is inside it. Make sure to examine it to get it as a side quest of sorts. It will be in the “Info” part of your inventory.

So, that’s the location of the Homing Instinct Painting in Elden Ring, and now for the solution. We’re going to start from the Stranded Graveyard site of grace, or at least, it’s general location. Ride the elevator up to the surface and exit the building. Head down the slope to the north, and then turn east. When you reach the edge of the cliff, you’ll see an arch in the distance, with what seem to be small statues near it. Remember where it is, then go down the incline to the south, lest you tumble to your doom. From the bottom of the incline, go east, and you’ll find those little statues again. Turns out, it’s actually a bunch of headstones. As you approach, a ghostly apparition of the painter will appear, and then vanish again. In its place will be an item, the Incantation Scarab. It slightly lowers the FP cost of Incantations, but increases damage taken.

Very early in your exploration of Elden Ring world you will find out that you need to prepare your character for different tasks. You'll need to learn how to use Ashes of War, how to two-hand weapons, or use magic spells during the course of your adventures. Many secrets are also waiting for you, such as, a hostile NPC Sellen that doesn't let you see her shop, an invisible man in a bush, or a huge turtle with a bell that lets you duplicate some very important items.
