Fallout 4 Automatron DLC Release Date Revealed

Bethesda has released a new trailer for Automatron, the first piece of DLC for Fallout 4. The video shows off robot customization, a few nuggets of the plot and some exciting robot battles.

They’ve also revealed the release date for the add-on.

It starts off with a robotic voice pleading for your help in the fight against the Mechanist, an evil presence in the Commonwealth. It’s probably not the same Mechanist we saw in the previous Fallout game, who was a good guy, a protector of the people. More likely, it has something to do with the evil Mechanist, the one who fought with Silver Shroud in the Fallout 4 radio drama. In hindsight, it probably would have been wiser not to name three different characters the same.

It shows off what customizing the robot companion will be like, with the player having the ability to switch out different parts, use custom paint jobs and more. Finally, a companion you can modify to your heart’s content. It’s still unclear whether we’ll be able to engange in romantic relationships with the robots.

There seems to be a bunch of cool new robot weapons, as shown in the robot-on-robot skirmishes in the video. In particular, we loved the lighting gun and the melee weapon variants.

Automatron is going to be released on March 22nd, on PC, Playstation 4 and Xbox One. Owners of the Season Pass will receive it automatically, while the rest will be able to buy it separately. The price is, sadly, still unknown.
