Where to find Fortbytes?

There were only a handful of them shown in the trailer, and they look like giant, floating computer chips. One is awarded to players for finishing in the top 10 of any game mode one hundred times. Another required you to use the Rock Lava Spray emote in front of a lavafall. There were two grindy ones – one requiring you to unlock tier 80, the other tasking you with earning 125k experience.

There were also a couple that only told you which location to look in, which will probably be the hardest ones to get. They’re not really inconspicuous, but searching an entire locations takes time. The ones that require you to use an emote at a certain spot will probably only include emotes from this season. It would be kind of unfair to newer players to expect people to have stuff from the previous seasons.

We’re going to check them out as soon as the season starts, and if any of the starting 18 are hard to find, we’re going to write about them here. Stay tuned, and feel free to leave a comment if you’re having trouble with any particular Fortbyte. We’ll do our best to help.
