To probably nobody’s surprise, Marvel’s Avengers has retained its first place in the UK sales charts. It stayed ahead of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 & 2 and Animal Crossing: New Horizons, which ended the week in second and third place, respectively. The list also features Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Minecraft Dungeons, NBA 2K21, GTA V (because of course it does) and Ring Fit Adventure.
Of course something with the pop-culture pull of the Avengers was going to result in copious game sales. There’s no amount of lukewarm reception that can beat that. Therefore, Square Enix’s Disney’s Marvel’s Avengers has remained in the top spot of the UK sales charts. Not that the competition is anything much to speak of, mind you; the number two spot went to Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 & 2, aka a remake. Animal Crossing: New Horizons is in third.
Now, of course, I have to mention that the list only compiles sales of physical copies. If they included digital sales, I’d imagine that the list would look significantly different. I mean, there’s no mention of the likes of Fall Guys here. Anyways, you can check out the top ten, such as it is, below (via Destructoid).
- Marvel’s Avengers – Square Enix
- Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 & 2 – Activision
- Animal Crossing: New Horizons – Nintendo
- Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning – THQ Nordic
- Mario Kart 8 Deluxe – Nintendo
- Minecraft Dungeons – Xbox Game Studios
- Minecraft – Nintendo
- NBA 2K21 – 2K Games
- Grand Theft Auto V – Take-Two
- Ring Fit Adventure – Nintendo
With all that said, the fact remains that Square’s Avengers kinda stumbled out of the starting line, and, as we’ve said, to middling critical reception. If you’re having trouble with the game, check out our list of Marvel’s Avengers guides. Among others, we’ve written Avengers Errors & Problems – Crashes, Blurry Screen, Memory Leak, To Tame a Titan Secret Gold Chest Room Unlock, and Vault Key – Snowy Tundra Vault.
