Pokemon BDSP is chalk full of all manner of Pokemon you can encounter, battle, and catch. Most of these are pretty straightforward, but some require a different approach, as you will need to do certain things, or to fulfil certain criteria, before you can acquire them. Mew & Jirachi are two of such special Pokemon, as is Drifloon. But, there is another surprise that you can also get, and it comes in the form of the Mystery Gift. How To Unlock Mystery Gift in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl
The Mystery Gift is part of the pre-order bonuses that you can get when you purchase Pokemon BDSP early. In fact, the Mystery Gift is the only way to get the Manaphy Egg in the game. Of course, after a certain time, the egg will hatch and you will have a fully grown Manaphy that you can use. To do this, you will first need to claim your Mystery Gift via the internet. You can do this at any time before February 21, 2022. Note that you will need to have a working internet connection for this, but that shouldn’t be a problem.
As for the Mystery Gift itself, it isn’t available right from the start of the game. You will unlock the Mystery Gift function once you defeat the third Gym Leader, Maylene, in Veilstone City. This takes around two hours of playtime, so it won’t take you too much time to get to this point in the game. Once you receive the Manaphy Egg, put it in your party. After a while, it will hatch. You can even evolve it into Phione by doing something similar. To do this, go to the Pokémon Nursery in Solaceon Town. Check your Manaphy and Ditto into this Nursery and you will get another egg. Repeat the process – put it in your party and travel with it for a while, and it will soon hatch into Phione.
