How to Lock Door Sons of the Forest

When building a house in Sons of the Forest, you will – of course – want to put doors there so that you can get in and out when you want to. But what good is a door if you can’t lock it? Plenty of players are wondering how to lock the door in Sons of the Forest. But is this even possible to do? And if it is, what do you need to do in order to get it to work? That’s what we’re here to find out.

How to Lock Door in Sons of the Forest

Well, the short answer is that – you can’t. At least, not yet. While this option isn’t currently in the game, Sons of the Forest has only been out in Early Access for a short while, so it is very possible that a lock – or some other similar mechanism that will keep the doors shut – is going to be added in some future update. So, considering that you cannot lock the doors, is there anything else that you can do to keep the enemies out of your base? Luckily, there are a couple of things that can serve the same function, and we’re going to go over all of them.

Once you have made a door, a tactic that seems to work very well at deterring enemies from entering through it is to place a log right in front of the entrance door. Possibly due to pathfinding issues, enemies often won’t be able to come in if you do this. Another trick that you can use is to build your base on the second floor. Similarly to the log-in-front-of-the-door trick, it looks like enemies usually won’t bother coming up the stairs. Of course, since this is down to enemy AI, this could also be changed in an upcoming update. In any case, Sons of the Forest is still being worked on. This means that we can expect that a lot of things are going to be changed and added.
