Valheim Spice Rack Placement

The spice rack placement in Valheim has been causing some problems among players in the Hearth and Home update. Fortunately, it’s not as hard as it looks once you know the “trick.” So, let’s explain where to place the Valheim spice rack.

Where to Place Spice Rack in Valheim

To place the spice rack in Valheim, the only thing you need to keep in mind is that it has to be near a cauldron. It is an improvement to the cauldron, after all, so it really should be nearby. Other than that, there are now limitations to the placement of the spice rack in Valheim that we know of. Well, there’s also the fact that it has to be hanging off of something, so it doesn’t seem like you can place it on a wall. Rather, you’ll probably have to hang it off the roof or a horizontal beam above. Here are the ingredients necessary to make a spice rack (note that you need a workbench nearby).

  • Dandelion x3
  • Carrot x2
  • Mushroom x5
  • Thistle x3
  • Turnip x3

So, why exactly do you even need the spice rack? Well, as we’ve pointed out already, it improves your cauldron, bringing it up to level 2. That’s why the Valheim spice rack placement needs to be nearby. This unlocks a couple of new cooking recipes, like Black Soup and Muckshake. Neither of these sound nor look particularly appetizing, but hey, you take what you can get in Valheim.
