Iron Maiden is a secondary quest on Faroe island in which you’ll put your sword (literally and figuratively) to the test against the best that the women of Skellige have to offer.

In one of Skellige’s famed arenas Geralt met an undefeated warrior named Jutta and decided to try his strength against her.

Before he could do so, however, he had to complete several tasks to prove he was a worthy opponent.

Go to Faroe island, to the village of Ringvold, and look for a path that leads to the east from the village. Follow it to the top of the nearby hills and you’ll reach a ring where Skellige warriors spar. Talk to Jutta an Dimun, who has never been bested by a man in combat, and tell her you wish to fight. She’ll respond in one of two ways:

She’ll fight you immediately if you’ve killed the leader of the slavers during the “Flesh for Sale” secondary quest.
She’ll also fight you right away if you’ve bested Einar of Faroe during the “Fists of Fury: Skellige” secondary quest.

If you haven’t done one of these things, she will not know of you and will not fight you until you’ve proved your worth in one of two ways:

By defeating Gunnar in the village
By bringing her an old sword from a ship that sank in the ocean.

Walkthrough

Following contains quest spoilers. You’ve been warned

Choice 1: Defeat Gunnar.

Go back to the village and find Gunnar in his combat circle next to the harbor. Ask him for a fist fight. He’ll need some convincing, but will eventually agree. Make sure not to step out of the circle during the fight. Once you’ve beaten him, return to Jutta and inform her of your triumph. She’ll be impressed and you’ll have to choice to fight her immediately or to prepare first. We recommend you choose the second option.

Choice 2: Find the old sword.

Get into the water and swim to the remains of an old ship half-submerged by the island’s edge. Dive down and use your Witcher Senses to find the chest with the sword. Bring the sword to Jutta. She’ll likewise give you the option to fight her immediately or wait and prepare. Choose the latter option.

Defeat Jutta.

When you’re ready, talk to her to start he fight. You should fight her by dealing quick blows to her in order to force her to the edge of the circle. Once you’ve done that, retreat back to the center of the circle and repeat the procedure. Be persistent and you’ll prevail. If you don’t, the quest will end.

Meet Jutta at her home.

Once you’ve defeated her, she will be impressed with your skill and will invite you to her home that night. Agree and head there – her house is next to the circle you fought Gunnar in.

There you’ll have to choose whether or not you want to give into her advances. If you do, well, you know where that will lead… You can also refuse without any negative consequences. The quest will then conclude.
