The guards demand payment of 50 crowns for the right to pass.

Agree to pay
If you decide to pay them (50 crowns) you will be on your way.
However a couple of days later the guards will be back Oxenfurt’s south gate where they will try to extort more money from you.
You will have the option to pay or refuse them.
This is the last time you’ll see them.
If you refuse them, you will find them angry at the outskirts of Oxtenfurt and a fight will ensue.
