Destiny 2 Bergusia Forge To Be Unlocked For All Annual Pass Owners

The team at Bungie has always had a penchant for convoluted puzzles. You all remember the raid that went undefeated for ninteen hours? Exotic quests that took weeks to figure out? Well, this time they really outdid themselves. The latest piece of the Black Armory DLC, the Bergusia Forge, was released with a puzzle lock. After players spent more far too long banging their heads against the wall at Niobe Labs, the developers realized they went too far this time. That’s why they’ve decided to remove the lock and let everyone in.

Destiny 2 Bergusia Forge Unlocked For All Annual Pass Owners

Well, everyone in this context being all owners of the annual pass, even those who haven’t solved the puzzle. And it’s not going to open up immediately. Instead, they’ve decided on adeadline (2 PM in their time zone), and when that passes, you’ll be allowed to partake in the activity even if you haven’t solved the puzzle. Of course, the math-heads among us will still have the chance to solve the darned thing, and they’ll get a Ghost and an emblem to prove their merit.

A lot of people have spent a lot of time and energy on the Niobe Labs puzzle, but progress is slow. Although Bungie didn’t admit the puzzle was too hard or badly designed, they agree it wasn’t a great idea to put the new content behind it. That’s why they’ve decoupled the two, after all.

The announcement comes via their official blog, and the tone is rather humble and apologetic – the players will no doubt enjoy the small victory as they saunter across the final forge and get those few sweet, missing Black Armory weapons. Then we can all relax for a few days before we start preparing for the inevitable Valentine’s Day event, which is just around the corner.
