Destiny 2 Forsaken Gambit Mode Free Trial Starts September 1st

The launch of Destiny 2 Forsaken is right around the corner, mere days away. If you want to whet your appetite, then you might want to listen up. Bungie and Activision have decided to let Guardians have a taste of the upcoming multiplayer mode, Gambit. Every person that owns Destiny 2 is going to have access to this free trial. It will start on Saturday, September 1st, at 10 AM PDT. You can work out what time that is in your time zone. The free trial will last for 24 hours, so, those plans you had for the weekend? Yeah, you should probably cancel those right now.

As for Gambit itself, it is a brand new mode in Destiny 2. For one, it’s the game’s first PvEvP mode. In fact, it sounds like it could be a really fun time. In essence, the core idea is Capture the Flag, but Bungie is shaking up the formula. The idea is, there are two teams, and both of them are killing enemies. The goal is to collect items that said enemies drop for your team, and then deposit them in the middle of the map. The team that drops a certain number of items summons a boss, which they then have to defeat in order to win. The catch is that you can also mess around with the other team; you can kill them and steal their items, for example.

Destiny 2 Forsaken is coming out on September 4th, on PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. You can preorder still preorder the DLC, in order to get the stuff from Cayde’s Exotic Stash.
