Destiny 2 Hotfix 2.7.0.2 Delayed Due to Issue

The planned hotfix 2.7.0.2 for Destiny 2 won’t come out on January 14th, as was the original plan. Apparently, they’ve encountered some sort of issue that ended up necessitating the delay. They’ve provided no other details at the time of writing, but they do promise to share further updates as they become available. One thing is for certain: the Wish-Ender lives for at least a little bit longer.

Destiny 2 Hotfix 2.7.0.2 Delayed Due to Issue

According to the Bungie Help Twitter, hotfix 2.7.0.2 is not going to come out on January 14th, as originally intended. The reason is that they encountered some kind of issue, the nature of which they have not yet revealed. They will provide more details “as they become available.”

The reactions to the news are kinda mixed in a very entertaining way. For example, people are celebrating the delay, because the Wish-Ender bow is going to remain a powerful weapon for a bit longer. For those of you that don’t know what I mean, the bow is currently dealing way more damage that it’s supposed to. Bungie have, of course, noticed the problem and they promised to fix it in this update. So, those of you that are enjoying the current Wish-Ender situation get a little more time to before the inevitable nerf.

On the other hand, you have people complaining about the delay, even going so far to say that this is damaging Bungie’s reputation and the belief that they can carry the game. Which I think is a bit dramatic, but I do get the frustration. There are some pretty bad bugs, like the one with the EDZ Obelisk, that needs fixing as soon as possible. Still, if you’ll allow me to editorialize a bit, it’s better to delay an update than release it and bring even more mayhem to the game. We’ll see what happens when Bungie release more details about the unfortunate hotfix.
