Fallout 3 was a huge change compared to the original and there was a number of Fallout fans who were not that crazy about it. A number of them found New Vegas a much more interesting game. It is no wonder that still today people are hoping someone would pull a “New Vegas” on Fallout 4 as well. So, here we are, if no one is willing, modders are, as always.
A person of the nickname Sir_Bumfrey_Diggles is leading a small team crafting the cities of Fallout: New Vegas into Fallout 4 engine. So far they have finished Goodsprings and Primm. From what Sir Bumfrey had said on Reddit, he is managing to actually reduce his workload by working more: “I have to recreate all the buildings from scratch, but the good thing about New Vegas is that many of the buildings are actually exact copies of others on the map. Essentially the more of the world I build, the quicker I can build.”
Apparently, he and his team are having a rough time with the textures, as they can roughly replace them, but perfection cannot be achieved without a more serious community investment. Still, their aim is not to actually do everything themselves. “The aim of this mod is not to recreate New Vegas in Fallout 4, but to use the same location as a setting for another quest mod.” He does admit that they would be interested in getting some of the initial quests in Fallout: New Vegas working. He also invites anyone who is interested in using his map to do so.
Fallout 4 has been out for some time and as with all Bethesda products, mods are abundant. If you are considering going back to it, make sure to check out our huge list of guides.
