People are already hard at work at providing advice and guides for this beautiful new IP, including our own army of guide-makers. In all this beehive-like activity, a really nice Easter egg has cropped up.

A little background here: in case you are unaware, one of the favorite figures in gaming, Hideo Kojima, was on a world tour last year, preparing to build his own studio from the ground up. One of the things he picked up along the way were good relations and a game engine – the Decima engine – created by Guerrilla Games and used to great effect in Horizon: Zero Dawn.

That said, it is no wonder that the guys at Guerrilla Games wanted to reference the next Kojima adventure – Death Stranding – of which very little is still known, apart from that it will feature Mads Mikkelsen, Norman Reedus, Guillermo Del Toro (in as of yet unknown facility) and probably Stefanie Joosten, whom you might be familiar with as the face behind Quiet, MGSV’s sniper.

Back to Horizon: Zero Dawn. If you look hard enough, you can find the Stranded Necklace (worn by Norman Reedus in the first trailer for Death Stranding), Stranded Shackles (worn in the same trailer) and Stranded Figure (the creepy doll held by Guillermo Del Toro in the last Death Stranding trailer). These items also share the Kojima Productions logo in the inventory menu. They are no more than collectibles, but they are a nice gesture, and players will surely appreciate them. If you need a hand, we got you covered, with our Stranded Items guide.

Horizon Zero Dawn is out today on PS4 and PS4 Pro.
