How to Trade with Sudama in Nioh 2 & Get Sudama Swapper Trophy – It Seems as Though It Wants Something

To trade with Sudama in Nioh 2, and get the Sudama Swapper trophy, you simply have to drop an item that you don’t want from your inventory near the Sudama. When you approach a Sudama, the game tells you that it seems as though it wants something, implying that it might want a specific item, but that’s not the case. You do this by highlighting the item in your inventory and pressing Triangle. The Sudama will then hurry over and pick it up. In return, it drop a gift for you. The first time you do this, you’ll earn the Sudama Swapper trophy.

The items you can get by trading with the Sudama vary significantly. They can be various weapons, armor, consumable items, etc. The higher the level of the item you drop, the better the odds of getting something good. Unfortunately, there’s an element of RNG here, since you might get an item that is completely useless to you, like a weapon that doesn’t work well with your build. So, good luck with that.

Now, there’s also one more important part to this whole trade thing. If you drop Soul Cores for a Sudama, you have a chance, albeit small, of receiving a Kodama Soul Core. For more info on those, check out our Kodama Soul Core – How to Get in Nioh 2 – Friend to the Kodama Trophy guide.

Where to Find Sudama Locations in Nioh 2?

The first Sudama that you can find is in the second main mission, called The Beast Born of Smoke and Flames. Just as you go through the first Corrupted area in the burning village, you’ll cross a very short bridge. To your right, there will be two houses. Go into the second one and climb down the ladder. When you descend into the tunnel, you’ll come across a chest and two Gaki to kill, as well as a red grave. Continue down the tunnel and you’ll come across the Sudama.

Please note that this guide is a work in progress. We’ll be updating it with more Sudama locations as we progress through the game. In the meantime, check out some of our other Nioh 2 guides. Nioh 2 doesn't pull any punches, so you might get stuck before you've even begun playing. We've written a guide to help you choose your starting weapon and guardian spirit, and another that shows how to reset skills if you invest in the wrong ones. Once you've dug in, you'll probably want to know how to unlock onmyo magic & ninja proficiency skills, or how to change and use Yokai Shift forms. Getting more skill points is always a priority, which is why we've written about locks of hair locations. If you're hunting rare soul cores, you'll probably want to know about the Mujina locations - finding them is tricky.
