Glastrier or Spectrier Crown Tundra

Crown Tundra Glastrier or Spectrier is a choice you’re going to have to make during one of the quests in the Pokemon Sword and Shield quest. The choice doesn’t affect the quest itself, but it does determine whether you get a Ghost or Ice type Pokemon at the end of the Calyrex Steed quest (aka King of Bountiful Harvests). Plus, the selection comes in the middle of the quest, and you won’t know it until you see it. That said, we’re going to clear things up a bit in our Glastrier or Spectrier Crown Tundra guide.

Choose Crown Tundra Glastrier or Spectrier – Calyrex Steed Quest – Shaderoot Carrot or Iceroot Carrot

Whether you choose Glastrier or Spectrier in Crown Tundra will depend on the choice of where you plant the Carrot Seeds in the Calyrex Steed quest. For a detailed guide on that, check out our Crown Tundra Calyrex Steed & Carrot Seeds guide. Basically, when you get the seeds, you can either plant them in the cemetery or on the ice mountain. Depending on which field you choose, you’ll get either the Shaderoot Carrot or Iceroot Carrot, respectively. The former will give you Spectrier, and the latter grants Glastrier.

When it comes to the choice between Crown Tundra Glastrier or Spectrier, that depends entirely on your preferred play style. The quest will proceed as normal no matter what you choose. Long story short, Glastrier has a high attack stat, but it’s bulky and slow. Also, it does have a high defense stat, but it’s vulnerable to various attacks, like any Ice type. As for Spectrier, it’s a fairly standard glass cannon. It can’t take much punishment, but it sure can dish it out. Plus, both of their special attacks are really cool and useful.

So, yeah, ultimately, pick whichever Pokemon type you need more, or are more comfortable with. That’s all there is to it when it comes to choosing between Glastrier or Spectrier in Crown Tundra. If you need any further help with the DLC, check out some of the other guides on the subject. For example, we’ve written Regirock Crown Tundra – Hold a Never-Changing Stone and Galarian Zapdos Crown Tundra – Legendary Clue 3, as well as the above-linked Calyrex Steed. We hope you’ll find them useful!
