AC Valhalla Family Matters & A Seer’s Solace Bug
A Seer’s Solace quest bug in AC Valhalla is preventing people from proceeding with the main story due to an issue introduced in Patch 1.0.2. The issue comes early in the main quest line, during Family Matters, where people can’t get the A Seer’s Solace mission in AC Valhalla no matter what they do. This is a huge issue, especially if you’ve spent a long time exploring the open world and ignoring the story. Is there some way to work around this mess? How to Fix Seer’s Solace Family Matters Quest Bug AC Valhalla Patch 1.0.2?
To fix the AC Valhalla Seer’s Solace / Family Matters quest bug in patch 1.0.2, there is only one thing that you can actually do – restart the game. That is the official answer from Ubisoft, by the way. “As this quest is early in the game, we recommend starting a new game while our devs work on addressing this issue. ” So, yes, the developers have messed something up seriously in update 1.0.2, and the only solution is to start over until they figure out what’s wrong. I know, I know, don’t shoot the messenger.
The problem there, of course, is that this is an open-world game. So, even if Seer’s Solace is early in the main quest, you still could have easily sunk fifteen hours into the game before even getting to that point. So, is there some way to save this? Well, no, there isn’t. Truthfully, probably the best thing to do is uninstall the game and reinstall it without updating. Don’t keep the old save, just get rid of everything and restart with version 1.0.0. Rush through the main story until you finish A Seer’s Quest, and only then install the new patch. Now you can freely explore again.
I’m sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but this is currently the only solution for the Seer’s Solace quest bug in AC VAlhalla at the time of writing. I have shut down my PS4, after restarting and selecting the quest the symbol was back on the map and I could go on.. did everything before but sort of left it to pounder wether i should restart or wait for a patch. But like i said, restarted the PS and immediately continued the quest and i worked..!
It worked fir me, but since a few days thr best friend button is grey, and stopped working, it really sucks!

I was able to delete the 1.02 update in the notifications of the ps4. Started the game again afterwards. And now i am able to start the mission

I played al the assasins creed series and this one really dissapoints me
Graphics are not on point
Bugs like: horse is flying in the sky(wtf), running IN the ground and cant get out of it, 3 times the game crashed(afterplaying 50hours), delay of the controls(you serious???) And lot of other bugs.. i waisted first time money on assasins creed, Ubisoft you must have a big shame over this kind of reactions.
Waiting for cyberpunk 2077 i hope that game is gonna be better so i can forget Ubisoft.
Uninstalling and restarting worked, but I bought the disc so I could install offline and avoid 1.0.2 patch. Digital copies can’t do that, I believe.
HOWEVER, after restarting and playing with 1.0.0, I was able to get past the Seers Solace mission, only to reach another game stopping bug after 27 hours of gameplay. The exact same problem, you select the quest in the menu but no icons pop up and you can’t engage with the characters. Having a game stopping bug in the beginning is bad enough, but if they’re just going to keep popping up throughout the game progression, regardless of which update patch you have, I don’t know. I don’t really want to play at all anymore, and it makes me sad that I paid $65 for this.
Actually, even with downloads turned off the re installation forces the download anyway. So deleting your data just puts you in the same spot only you get to do the early garbage again.
Last game ever from Ubisoft. Watchdogs sucks too.

The same thing happened to me guys. I’m playing on PS4. I’ve already spent much time on playing this game and I have to go again. OK, I will. I will play this game again rapidly as I will able to. But I will never ever buy any Assassin’s Creed game again. Sorry UBISOFT game… to be precise.

Tried complaing through ubisoft they not taking any emails only online chat which doesnt work like the game. Not impressed with game anyway not as good as the others. Spent hours already and £50 for this garbage not happy. Im not prepared to start from scratch, i would rather have my money back and buy call of duty cold war.

PLAYED ON PS4 GIRLFRIEND PLAYED FIRST ON HER PS4 WAS ABLE TO COMPLETE A SEER’S SOLACE NO ISSUES. I INSTALL ON MY PS4 PLAY THROUGH ALL WEALTH/SIDE QUESTS GET TO SEERS SOLACE SHES GLITCHED STANDING IN HER HUT. RELOAD DOESN’T WORK. NOT UNINSTALLING. RATHER GO PLAY BATTLEFIELD OR YAKUZA. WILL NOT PLAY TILL GAME BUG IS PATCHED. WILL NOT REINSTALL AND WASTE MORE TIME.
I’m beyond angry. You spend all that time to get to that point and start over. I’m glad I found this page.
Final update fella…
so disabling auto update in the Playstation system settings and deleting/reinstalling game works to fix the bug. Previous saved files have to be deleted so the bad news is the game has to be restarted as version 1.0
Fortunately though it only took me about 20 minutes to get back to the “seers solace” quest that glitched, play through it and save. after this you can reinstall the update
Same issue on PS5… is there a link to an Ubisoft forum? I already had a glitch with odyssey which never got fixed so I abandoned the game after almost terminating it (I couldn’t kill the final cultist)

Okay I figured it out, you have to go into the system settings on your PlayStation and turn off auto update, delete the game and then reinstall it from disk and it will install version 1.0 I’m about to load my save and see if that fixes the bug if not I will delete the save and start over

Game is a total rip off. the bug is annoying, but even without that the game lacks any innovation and the graphics are straight ps3. Skip this one. I’ll return my copy tomorrow and get a full refund.

Did you have to uninstall then re-install or did you just start a new game
Complete restart. I ended up restarting the whole game.
-First delete game off of console
-Then change settings on console by unchecking the automatic downloads
-redownload game
-When your at the games main menu, before you start a New game, on the bottom right conner it will say “Patch 1.0.0”. If it does not say this then you will need to delete the game again and then make sure all the boxes are unchecked in your console settings regarding automatic downloads. (I unchecked everything just to make sure)
-if it says “patch 1.0.0” then play the story line all the way through till you finish the quest “Seers Solace” once completed, manually save and then go back to your console settings and check off all the boxes on automatic download. Let your game update and your good to go.
I didn’t like the fact I had to start all over again after putting 13hrs into it already but you know what….its Assassins creed. I can’t just not play it hahaha. Hopefully this helps #happygaming
There goes 6 hours of my life.
Hows this one, I played 13hrs and finished all the side missions, collected all the wealth, mysteries, and artifacts, upgraded all of the armor and gear I could and then found out I could not continue….I’m so bummed mostly because I love these games but things like this, really take the excitement away. Maybe I’ll pick this game back up in a month or so when, hopefully, they fix the issue.

well i just seen this after playing for a few hrs haven’t dont much just a few things and only 2 view points so i can restart game but still sucks i have do this and anything you buy still keeps after restart because buying is kept in ps store and always says purchase all you need to do is just reinstall all you bought

Every game that comes out has “game breaking bugs”. I saw on message boards this was happening up to a week before launch… Just saying, I’m tired of paying to be a beta tester.
Well that’s just great. Always good to know that the time I invested was wasted. At least it’s not like with Deus Ex Mankind Divided where I complete almost the entire game and them can’t proceed further because of a glitch.

Nope, I have the PS5 and the PS5 edition of AC Valhalla and it’s broken for me as well
I spent hours doing exactly what you d scribed. I amassed slot of wealth, did a lot of the mysteries, and even killed a giant elk spirit beast (which wasn’t easy). Decided to o get back to the main story and now I’m stuck. Don’t know any to restart so just hope they patch it out soon. Ps going to submit a ticket since I consider this a collosal screw up.

If you have bought anything from the store like tattoos will those be lost if you delete all saved files?

I have spent already a Lott of hours in this game with exploring the map. I don’t want to delete the game. Do you think that Ubisoft will fix this problem soon? or Do you think that deleting the game will be the only solution ever?
They are working on fixing it, so who knows?
It’s not just those missions. I completed both after deleting it. Side missions and story are broken. I think I ll wait for the fix
FIX: You have to change your graphic settings and then restart the game after applying new settings it should continue
I deleted the Update from my notification button. Restarted. Loaded the second autosafe. And it workes
The game didnt start the seeker solace. I saved game and shut it down the ps4. I went bed and started game back up and loaded.. when walked in again seer solace started. I had 9 hour exploring already done.. but it fixed itself by this for me.
