Borderlands 3 Killavolt Boss Fight – How to Solo Kill

How to defeat Killavolt

Killavolt has a big riot shield that protects him from frontal damage. When fighting him with friends, you should spread around the arena, so that at least one of you can spam him with damage at all times. When fighting him alone, it’ll be more of an issue – Zane can distract him with the Digi-Clone, but others don’t have that option. Use any action skill that can distract or help you hide/survive. You should bring at least one grenade launcher with you. It’ll allow you to target his back and get around the shield – especially if his back is against a wall. After taking a certain amount of damage, he’ll stagger. That’s when you pull out whatever has the highest DPS and unload.

The other, arguably bigger problem here is the arena itself. Killavolt can electrify the floor, doing damage to anyone standing on it. He’ll do it in waves at first, targeting the panels you are standing on. As soon as you see panels starting to glow, run. Try to keep your back towards the wall at all times, so you can have a clear view of the room. After you’ve done a bit of damage, he’ll electrify the whole room. Sometimes he’ll leave a couple of panels out of it – use these as a safe haven. If there are none, keep jumping until the electricity is gone. After a few tries, you should get the hang of it.

Ideally, you’ll have a Transformer shield saved up – it transforms all shock damage into shield charges, making the fight utterly trivial. We’ve heard it can drop from Megamind, so you could try farming that. Homing missiles also work wonders, if you manage to put a tracker on the boss’ back and shoot around or over him.
