Destiny 2 Clan Management Functionality Now Live

Bungie has launched the Clan Management functionality for Destiny 2. Clan migration to the new game is ready to begin. All the Clan founding members should be busy calling their members to action. Once the game launches, you’ll get in-game features to help manage your Clan. The function is currently in a maintenance stage, which should end in a month or so. Guardians will have the option to choose to convert into a clan, or stay a Group. The choice must be made by August 23rd.

Clans are based on Bungie.net groups. However, being a member of a Clan offers its own set of perks. For one, all members of a Clan get bonuses from the actions of every individual member. The addition of Destiny 2 Guided Games will help lone wolf players and Clans find each other, giving Clan Fireteams the extra muscle they might need. Also, in-game Clan invites will be allowed. There are downsides, though. To the chagrin of many Guardians, Clans have a membership cap of 100 members.

If your Group structure is more social, and you don’t care much for else, then just leave everything as is. A post about Destiny 2 Clans on Bungie’s website seems to imply that becoming a clan is totally optional. If that is the case, then Guardians that aren’t interested in what the new clan system has to offer can just lean back and relax.

Destiny 2 is coming out on September 6th on the PS4 and Xbox One, while PC players will have to wait until October 24th.
