Destiny 2 How to Get Bright Engrams

Bright engrams are a new type of loot container in Destiny 2. They only contain stuff from the Eververse shop – sparrows, shaders, ghost shells and such. The cryptarchs are powerless against them, so you’ll have to bring them to Tess Everis, the Eververse trader. She’ll decrypt them and give you the goodies inside. They’re not really easy to obtain, though. Within this article, we’ll show you how to get bright engrams in Destiny 2.

How to Earn Bright Engrams

The easiest way to get bright engrams is by spending silver at the Eververse shop. This means spending real money, though, and most people aren’t willing to use microtransactions in a game they already paid $60 for. Luckily, there’s a way to get them without spending your hard-earned cash. After you get to level 20 and hit the level cap, you might notice the EXP bar still keeps filling up. Each time it fills up after level 20, you’ll get a single bright engram. It’s a slow trickle, but it’s better than nothing. It’s definitely better than spending even more money.

After Tess opens it up for you, you’ll get a handful of cosmetic items. They’re on a rotation, but we still don’t know how often they’ll switch up the possibilites. If you don’t like any of the items you get, you can dismantle them into bright dust – this is one of the new currencies. You can spend it to buy Eververse stuff from Tess without actually spending money.

We’ve heard they’re sometimes served as rewards for story missions, but it hasn’t happened to us yet. We’ll update the guide if we discover any more ways to get bright engrams.
