Bungie is preparing to introduce a well-known and beloved mode from the first game into Destiny 2. Yes, Iron Banner is coming back; Bungie announced it on the official website. It will start on the next weekly reset, on Tuesday, October 10th, 2 AM Pacific Time. The even will last for a week, and end on Tuesday, October 17th, also at 2 AM Pacific Time. During that period, Lord Saladin will be waiting for you in the Tower. You’ll probably have to visit him in order to start the quest.

After that, all you need to do is head to the Crucible and play the Control game mode. Power levels are disabled, so only your fighting skills will determine the victor in this 4v4 mode. There won’t be any Ranks and Bounties, like there were before. Instead, there’s Iron Banner Engrams, of course. By competing in the Iron Banner PvP event, you’ll earn vendor tokens for Lord Saladin, which will eventually earn you the sweet-looking armor that you can see in the image above.

That’s not all Bungie has up their sleeve for next week, either. On the same date that the Iron Banner begins, you’ll be able to play the Leviathan Raid on Prestige difficulty. It will start on Tuesday, October 10th, at 10 AM Pacific Time, eight hours after Iron Banner. In order to play it, you’ll have to be Power Level 300. The mechanics of the raid won’t change, but it will ramp up the difficulty significantly. Of course, you’ll be rewarded accordingly.
