How to Preload Destiny 2 PC Beta

Destiny 2 PC Beta is scheduled to start on August 29th (or a day earlier, in case you’ve preordered it). In order to save you some time, Bungie are going to allow preloading. As usual, it’s a needlessly complicated process, especially if you’ve preordered in retail. In this guide, we’re going to show you how to preload Destiny 2 beta on PC.

Destiny 2 PC Beta Preload

The preload is only available to those who’ve preordered. It will start today at 10AM PT / 1 PM ET / 7 PM CEST. If you’ve preordered a digital copy, here’s what you should do:

1. Download and install the Battle.net client (scroll down to where it says Blizzard App).
2. Start the client and log into your Battle.net account.
3. Look at the list of games on the left. Destiny 2 should be at the bottom. Click on it.
4. The large panel on the right should have a button that will allow you to download the beta.

If you’ve preordered the physical edition of the game, it’s a bit more convoluted. Before you do any of the above, you’ll have to:

1. Register/log in on Bungie.net.
2. Redeem the early access preorder code you got from the retailer on Bungie’s site.
3. Get the beta download code from the redeemed codes page. Make sure you select PC.
4. Log onto Battle.net and activate/redeem the beta download code.
5. Follow the steps from the list above.

Those who’ve preordered the game will be able to access the beta on August 28th, while the rest will have to wait a day longer. The beta will end on August 31st for everyone, unless Bungie decides to give it a few days more, like they did on consoles. Still, there’s really not a lot of stuff to do in the beta, so the initial time frame should be more than enough.
