RDR2 M1899 Pistol Location - How to Get New Guns

M1899 pistol is one of the new weapons in Red Dead Redemption 2. Rockstar advertised it as a new gun made for the PC version of the game, so a lot of folks are aware it’s in the game. However, not many are having luck finding it, or any of the other new weapons. This guide will show you the RDR2 M1899 pistol location, when it unlocks and how to obtain it on console.

Where to find M1899

The M1899 can be bought from the gunsmith in Saint Denis. It costs $350, but it will probably be locked the first time you see it. It will unlock as you progress through the story, so keep checking every time you’re around. It is only available in singleplayer, so don’t expect to find it in RDR2 Online.

How to get new guns on console?

You can’t, at least for now. The new weapons are PC exclusive at the moment, but there’s no doubt in my mind they’ll be added to the console versions in the near future. For now, don’t waste time trying to find them – they aren’t there.

If you’ve been playing on PC, you’ve also experienced some errors and performance problems. People in non-English speaking countries have had trouble getting the game to show subtitles in English, performance has been terrible across the board. The best thing you can do to improve performance is to switch from Vulkan to DX12 and vice versa, to see which works better, but also turning off some of the anti aliasing options. Well, actually, the best thing you can do is shelf the game until Rockstar have fixed it, which they will inevitably do, given enough time. Have patience, and you’ll end up with a more pleasant experience overall.

I’ve been playing this on PC since it launched. It runs perfectly smooth in ultra high settings at 60fps. No problems. Hasn’t crashed once.
