Red Dead Redemption 2 Third Official Trailer Released

The west-bound train of Red Dead Redemption is gathering more and more steam. Rockstar Games is slowly building up the hype, by spoon-feeding the hungry public and releasing trailer by trailer. The most recent one, which you can check out below, came out not a day ago, and already has over seven million views on YouTube. Considering that Red Dead Redemption 2 will take place in 1899, it’ll definitely be a prequel to the first RDR. If the previous game was the true end of the Wild West, the new one is the beginning of the end. The trailer is cinematic, so hopefully, some gameplay will come next.

The overarching theme of the trailer, and presumably the game itself, is that the era of the Wild West is slowly coming to an end. The last of the outlaw gangs are getting weeded out by the law. Our protagonist, Arthur Morgan, is a member of the Van der Linde gang, or Dutch’s gang. They mess up a robbery in the town of Blackwater, so they’re on the run. Both bounty hunters and federal agents are on their heels, so they have to “rob, steal and fight their way across the rugged heartland of America in order to survive.” Needless to say, internal conflicts start to flare up, so Morgan will have to decide between his morals and his loyalty to the gang that he grew up in.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is coming out on October 26th, 2018, on the Xbox One and PlayStation 4, and pre-orders are already up and running. Yes, it seems that PC gamers will have to sit this one out, as well. Sorry, people.
