How to Defeat Katagawa Ball Boss in Borderlands 3?

To defeat the Katagawa Ball boss in Borderlands 3, you’ll have to be very, very patient and well-stocked on ammo. Also, you’ll have to be one with your Action Skills; get really good at using them. See, there’s no particular trick to Katagawa Ball. It’s a tank of a boss with three health bars that you have to deplete. It’s a war of attrition, and that’s more or less all there is to it. That said, there are a few tips that will make things a little easier, so let’s get into it.

For one, the first health bar takes the most time to take down. The other two basically take the same amount of time as the first one. So, the first health bar is where you wanna consider using active skills in order to save ammo for later.

Speaking of ammo, it’s gonna be a problem in this battle. You’ll have to manage it as best you can, and/or grind it out beforehand. That’s where your use of Action Skills is gonna be very important. Depending on your build, your use of skills can grant you more ammo, or do damage with them, or, ideally, both. You might find some help with that in our Borderlands 3 Best Solo Character Builds – Zane, FL4K, Amara, Moze guide.

The arena has a lot of cover that you’ll want to use liberally. In fact, just as you drop into the arena, turn left and book it up the stairs. There’s a block of turbines / AC units that you can hide behind. In this area, there’s nearly no attack that can reach you, aside from the lava. So, camp there, peak out of cover when it’s safe to shoot, and Katagawa Ball will fall eventually.

Lastly, the eye of the ball seems to be a bit of a weak spot. So, try to concentrate fire on it. Snipers and other precision weapons might come in handy. Good luck. In case you need further assistance, we also have Killavolt Boss Fight – How to Solo Kill and How to Farm Bosses.
