Red Dead Redemption 2 Comes on Two Blu-Ray Discs, Leak Reveals

The cover of the Japanese PlayStation 4 version of Red Dead Redemption 2 has leaked on Reddit. If the leak is to be believed, the game’s physical version is going to come on two Blu-Ray discs, at least on the PS4. Makes sense, considering the size of the game, and it will hopefully eliminate the need for lengthy downloading during installation.

Red Dead Redemption is just a little over a week away. Rockstar has been holding all the information about the game pretty tightly. Pretty much all the information we have gotten on RDR 2 has been through them feeding the gaming public through a tiny spoon. However, some leaks have been springing in the ship. Courtesy of Reddit user yoshikun5029, we got to see the PlayStation 4 cover of the Japanese version of the game. From it, we can glean that the physical version of the game will come on two Blu-Ray discs.

What an absolute monster of a game. As we’ve pointed out previously, the game’s size on the PlayStation 4 will be a whopping 105 GB. It makes sense that it would come on two Blu-Ray discs. At least this means that you won’t have to spend hours installing the game and then even more time downloading the rest of the game. At least, I really hope so. That said, I’m sure that the installation itself is going to go on forever regardless; at least the switching of discs mid-installation is less annoying than downloading.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is coming out on Friday, October 26th, 2018. You’ll be able to pick it up on Xbox One and PlayStation 4. So far, there’s been no mention of a PC version. The previous game has never found its way to the PC, so we’ll see if the outcry is loud enough this time around (and whether Rockstar believes its worth the money).
