Tracking quests in RDR2 is a potentially important mechanic in the game. The quest log in Red Dead Redemption 2 is not immediately apparent. The game doesn’t make it clear exactly where it is. However, it can be important to know where the quest log in RDR2 is, since you might want to track quests that you’ve taken, but haven’t followed up on. So, here’s our Red Dead Redemption 2 How to Track Quests guide to show you where to find the quest log in RDR2.

How to Track Quests in Red Dead Redemption 2?

To track quests in Red Dead Redemption 2, first, make sure that you’re not in the middle of a mission, or a dialogue, or anything like that. Once you’re in as neutral a situation as possible, hit left on your D-pad and hold it (my bad, you just have to press it, not hold it; thank you to our reader Dazza for pointing it out). This will take you to the Log menu. There are three tabs in this menus, including Challenges and Tasks. The Tasks tab in the menu is where you want to be. You’ll have a whole list of missions that you’ve taken there. Scroll through it, find the one you want, and select it.

There’s one important thing to keep in mind is that some of those missions are time-sensitive; especially those that you might get from NPCs that you meet randomly in the wild. So, you might not be able to actually track those missions if you’ve gone and faffed about for too long. Also, there’s a way that you can replay missions you’ve already completed, in order to complete the challenges there. Go into the game’s pause menu, then go to Progress. On the next screen, select Story. Then simply select the mission you want to replay.

You might be having trouble with something else in the game; if that’s the case, we’ve got a bunch of other Red Dead Redemption 2 guides for you, including Badgers Locations, How To Keep Stolen Hats, Unique Mask Locations – Pig, Cat, Ram, and more.

Seriously?! Left on the D-Pad?! LOL I was going insane trying to find this menu! THANK YOU!! 🙌🏾

      Yeah. Real intuitive, innit?

hitting and holding left on the d pad takes you to your journal not the log.

Tap left on D pad dont hold on to it otherwise it will take out the journal

Dont hold on to D pad that will pull out the journal. You just need to tap it

Whoops, that’s entirely my bad! I’ve updated the guide with the correct info. Thanks for the correction!

Thanks Man, that was driving me insane!!

How can I see the task on the map? Like there’s a house I need to rob north of Valentine and it’s in my task log, but doesn’t show the location on my map when I select it. Is there a way to do this?

You need to find those yourself. Those tasks are special. It’s one of the homestead robbery tasks.

I hit the left button but when I select the task there is no track option
