Red Dead Redemption 2 gets a story trailer

If you can remember last week (in Internet terms, it’s ancient history), Rockstar managed to cause a riot online by posting a simple picture. True to the font used in the announcement, Red Dead Redemption 2 news is here. This time, it has a little more meat on its bones, since we have a whole new story trailer to chew over.

If you are wondering who the rowdy boys of the trailer are, meet Arthur Morgan and the merry Van Der Linde gang. For those of you who remember playing Red Dead Redemption, you take on the “Dutch’s Gang” in it. This, more than anything else, proves that the timeline of the sequel actually places it as a prequel.

Here is what Rockstar says about the trailer: “Today we are proud to present the all-new trailer for Red Dead Redemption 2, the story of outlaw Arthur Morgan and the Van Der Linde gang as they rob, fight and steal their way across the vast and rugged heart of America in order to survive. Coming Spring 2018 to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One systems.” Well, at least they are still sticking to that “spring” part.

Other interesting things that can be seen in the trailer include a train heist – hopefully this means that GTA V style heists will be a part of the game now? There is every reason to suspect that Rockstar has built on GTA V and that we will see both the PC version of the game and the online component some time in thefuture, although nothing has been confirmed as of yet. There is also some bow-and-arrow gameplay shown, which is always nice to see.

Crossing fingers for the game coming out sooner rather than later.
