So, naturally, people are wondering how this whole thing works. Sedative Ammo – Where to Get & How to Use RDR2 Online

Where to Get Sedative Ammo in Red Dead Online?

To get RDR2 Sedative Ammo, there are several options to explore. For one, you can get it by advancing your level in the Naturalist Role. Incidentally, this is also how you unlock the different tiers of the new Gypsy Cob horse. But that’s not that much of a reliable source. No, your most reliable vendor of RDR2 Online sedative ammo is going to be Harriet, aka the person that is your Naturalist mentor of sorts. You can find her in Big Valley; you can see her exact location in the screenshots below. Aside from that, you can also get sedative ammo at the Naturalist store in Lagras.

Gun Store Not Selling Sedatives – How to Get More

To get more sedatives in RDR2 Online, you have to go to Harriet. As we’ve already mentioned, aside from advancing the Naturalist role and the store in Lagras, she is the only vendor that you can buy RDR2 sedative ammo from. You can’t get sedatives from the gun store, so don’t even try. I refer you to the section above as to where to find Harriet. Again, if you’re looking specifically for this type of bullet, forget about the gun store.

How to Use Sedative Ammo in Red Dead Online?

You use the RDR2 sedative ammo the same way as you’d any other kind. Load it into your gun and fire it at the animal you’re after. Mind you, some of the beasts you’re trying to put to sleep are going to require a lot of shots to finally drop, especially the likes of the alligator. Make every shot count. Once an animal is off to dream land, approach it and extract the sample you need. You can’t skin a sleeping animal, or do anything else but get the sample. After all, you’re a Naturalist now, a person of science, not a hunter. Also, sedative rounds damage the pelt quality, so keep that in mind.
