Threaten or Charm Bar Drunk – RDR2 A Quiet Time Quest – What to Choose?

During the A Quiet Time quest in Red Dead Redemption 2 Chapter 2, you and Lenny will ride off to the saloon in Valentine. You’ll approach the bar, and you’ll have to execute a prompt to lean on the bar. After you do, and exchange a few sentences with Lenny, a bar drunk will start hassling you. You’ll then be given an option to either Charm or Threaten the stranger. Believe it or not, it doesn’t seem that anything very different happens either way, but let’s go over what happens in each case.

If you choose Charm, Arthur will very politely tell the drunken stranger to leave. And, he will. You’ll then proceed to get absolutely sodden with Lenny, then drunkenly look for him around the saloon, have a bit of a tussle with him, and then even have the option to drown some guy, if you want. On the other hand, if you choose Threaten, Arthur will basically tell the stranger that he’ll murder the drunk, and quite gruesomely. Of course, the stranger will immediately excuse himself from the situation. The scene where you get hammered with Lenny proceeds from there.

That’s about all there is to the Threaten / Charm choice in the A Quiet Time quest in Red Dead Redemption 2. We’ve covered several other choices in the game, including Split Up or Leave Bait – Bear Hunting, Kill or Help Blackwater Man, and Kill or Spare O’Driscoll in Barn, to name a few.
