Red Dead Redemption 2 release date had a potential “leak”
Ever since the first trailer for Red Dead Redemption came out last October, people have been guessing at when the game is set and who the characters in it will be. As always, the date of release was a bone of contention among the fans, but the latest “leak” might prove more significant in that regard. Polish Media Markt may have accidentally revealed it, actually.
So far, the only “date” that was set by Rockstar was autumn 2017. There is no real info regarding the characters, but perhaps the approach from GTA V might again play a role, as they experimented with 3 main characters in that game. There should probably be a separate multiplayer mode, as has been customary with Rockstar games recently.
The game is still confirmed only for PS4 and Xbox One, but the PC community has been pretty vocal in their desire to bring the game to the “people’s platform”. There is a petition up signed by some 54,000 people on this matter, in case you expected anything else. After all, GTA V came to PC a year later, but it brought excellent reviews, and the game still holds top 5 positions on games sales charts.
Oh, we did not mention the actual date that was posted on Media Markt – October 3, 2017. You have to admit it fits the narrative quite well. People like this type of information because it makes waiting for more bearable, one speculates.
Looking at the already released games, as well as those that have been announced, 2017 is looking like one of the best years in history, when it comes to games. Critical acclaim has already welcomed RE 7, Nioh, Horizon Zero Dawn, Nier: Automata, Ghost Recon: Wildlands, with only Mass Effect: Andromeda not quite hitting the mark. And we haven’t even started April yet!
